In 1870, Maurice Hennessy created Hennessy X.O for his circle of friends and introduced a new style of cognac. Hennessy X.O is the Original, the emblematic icon of the Hennessy Maison.
Deep and powerful, the eaux-de-vie of this Hennessy X.O cognac are aged in young barrels and marked out by their power and energy, but also by their capacity to achieve a great roundness through time.
HOW TO ENJOY
HOW TO ENJOY

Appearance: Deep reddish amber, reflecting extended aging in oak.
Aroma: Rich dark fruits with a touch of cracked pepper, evolving into layers of butterscotch, caramel, candied orange peel, dark stone fruits, cinnamon spice, and oak.
Taste: A moderate oaky spice dominates on the back of the palate, culminating in a dry finish with a gentle alcoholic kick. Fruit and oak linger equally on the long afterglow, with a hint of cocoa.
Hennessy Cognac pairs beautifully with rich, flavourful dishes. It complements roasted meats such as beef, lamb, and game, where its caramel and oak notes enhance the depth and savoury character of the dish. A juicy steak, slow-roasted beef, or even game meats like venison or wild boar make particularly bold pairings.
For cheese, Hennessy pairs well with strong and aged varieties. Blue cheeses such as Roquefort or Stilton highlight the cognac’s richness, while aged cheddar or young Gouda bring out its fruit, spice, and nutty notes.
For dessert, try pairing Hennessy with crème brûlée or apple-based pastries such as an apple tart. The cognac’s warm caramel and spice notes beautifully complement creamy textures and gently sweet flavours.
