Product Detail

Veuve Clicquot unveils La Grande Dame Rosé 2015, a tribute to Madame Clicquot's pioneering spirit.

In 1818, she defied conventional practices by blending her red wine from her beloved ‘Clos Colin’ parcel with her white wine. Criticized at first, she is now acknowledged as the inventor of the first known blended rosé champagne.

"La Grande Dame 2015 Rosé is the essence of Madame Clicquot: the perfect expression of her force of character, her energy, her creativity and above all, her love of Pinot Noir."

Didier Mariotti, Cellar Master

La Grande Dame Rosé 2015 vintage, featuring a blend of 90% of Pinot Noir and 10% of Chardonnay, is blended with 13% Pinot Noir red wine from the historical parcel ‘Clos Colin’.

Pinot Noir’s unique, precise quality stands as the backbone of Veuve Clicquot champagnes. The versatility and freshness of Pinot Noir capture the essence of the Champagne region's unique terroir.

COLLABORATION
La Grande Dame 2015, by Paola Paronetto

For this new vintage of La Grande Dame, master of color Paola Paronetto meets the expression of Veuve Clicquot's excellence with an exclusive collaboration. Explore Italian artist Paola Paronetto's take on La Grande Dame, a chromatic symphony that echoes the harmony of our 2015 vintage.

Paola Paronetto and Madame Clicquot, enterprising and positive-thinking, meet on common ground: like all optimists, they share a passion for colors.

For the first time, Veuve Clicquot has entrusted an Artist to design the La Grande Dame Rosé gift box. The new pink case joyfully joins the rest of the colorful La Grande Dame 2015 collection, continuing to bring Veuve Clicquot’s message of optimism to the world.

The ‘Master of Colors’ chose (amongst her palette of 97 tones) the ‘Pesca Chiaro’ color: a vibrant light pink expressing both the freshness and the depth of the cuvée.

TASTING NOTES

Veuve Clicquot's latest cuvée harmoniously blends the sun-filled 2015 vintage with the precision, depth, and character of Pinot Noir red wine.

Spice notes, such as pepper, nutmeg, and clove, intertwine with the delicate aromas of red fruit, as well as floral hints of rose and violet.

Before Madame Clicquot's pioneering innovation, the pink hue in other rosé Champagnes relied on a ‘rosé de teinte’, achieved by infusing white wine with elderberries and black grapes.

Sensitive to this pink color, this is how the idea of blending her red wine from Bouzy with her white wines arose.

The result was a revelation. This subtle blend marked the creation of the blended champagne rosé technique.

FOOD PAIRING
A Colorful Culinary Celebration

When it comes to food and wine pairing, La Grande Dame 2015 is the perfect match for Garden Gastronomy: a new, gastronomic experience inspired by La Grande Dame. A gastronomy straight from the garden, the best vegetables for the best grapes. Both assertive and sustainable in its luxury, Garden Gastronomy expresses itself through inverted dishes, where vegetables and fruits centre stage, while meat and fish are prepared like condiments.
