After the syncopated rhythms of 2003, Vintage 2004 Plénitude 2 appears evident, a year of renaissance and calm. The wine balances on the edge with immediacy and surprise, evolving between tension and weightlessness.

The 2004 fruit remains discreet, yet more clearly defined in this second plenitude of the Vintage. Citrusy notes of pink grapefruit and blood oranges gently cede to figs. The additional time on the lees elevates the minerality of the vintage with the sublime maturity that is Dom Pérignon’s signature. Plénitude 2, 2004, has notes of Cocoa, mocha, roasted nuts, brioche and honey.

EXPERT REVIEW

Appearance: A radiant golden hue, sparkling with lively effervescence.

Aroma: The bouquet is ripe, lively and generous. The warm aromas of hay and brioche mingle with those of bergamot orange and russet stone fruit. The overall effect exudes smoky grey accents.

Taste: The vibrant opening strikes the first chord, a prelude to a complexity that is more tactile than plump, and only gives of itself gradually. The distinguished viscosity is understated and simply fits around the contours of the wine. The length is exquisitely bitter and abounds with sap, a mingling of liquorice and toasted malt.
