Krug Grande Cuvée 172ème Édition, centered around the 2016 harvest, experienced extreme weather conditions. An unusually wet spring made vineyard work challenging, but favorable weather from flowering onwards led to a successful ripening, ending with a heatwave. The harvest, from September 9 to October 2, produced healthy, expressive grapes. The Cellar Master incorporated wines from 10 other years, with reserve wines making up 42% of the blend, adding depth and roundness to this edition.

Appearance: At first sight, intense yellow gold.

Aroma: An elegant and aromatic nose of white flowers, lavender and almond holds the promise of finesse upon the first sip.

Taste: The palate is delicate and intense, long, fresh and persistent. White fruits dominate over yellow and are complemented by citrus through Krug Grande Cuvée’s characteristic lemony notes. Gentle nuances of white flowers and violet caress the palate, giving way to hints of eucalyptus and menthol.

Pairs beautifully with Jabugo ham and mature comté or served to accompany oysters, grilled shrimps, Indian or Moroccan food.
